If you’re a fan of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and you’re curious about Black Ops 3 Emblems, which are utilized in order to decorate guns in this popular video game, then you’ve come to the right place. We’re here to discuss the emblems, which have been the subject of quite a bit of controversy. When they were introduced as a game feature during 2015, users gained the capacity to rate, download, and share customized paint jobs with other Black Ops 3 players. This sounds fun and harmless, right? Well, it was, mostly. However, some players went too far by creating really rude custom emblems.
The developers of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 didn’t like the rude emblems, which often featured private parts of the human body or other off-color symbols, so the game development company (Treyarch) decided to ban the worst offenders. Bans for rude emblems appeared to be permanent, rather than temporary, and this set off a firestorm of debate and criticism online. Aside from pornographic custom paint jobs, anything which represented hate groups, such as Nazi symbols and flags for ISIS, were typically enough to initiate bans from Treyarch. However, it’s important to be aware that the ban is just for the emblem feature. It’s not for the entire game.
Is the Banning Appropriate?
Some may say that banning people for creating the emblems of their choice is not in keeping with freedom of speech. However, the servers for Call of Duty are private. This means that the makers of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 may use their discretion when it comes to banning people for whatever reason. If you create non-offensive emblems, you won’t have anything to worry about.
In addition to being able to create non-offensive emblems, you’ll be able to download, rate and view paint jobs, variations on classic camo and emblems from other gamers who also love Black Ops 3. At first, the downloading, rating and sharing was glitch-ridden. Also, it was impossible for players using XBox 360 consoles or PS3 consoles to download personalized camo from other players. The feature worked only for PC gamers and current gen players.
How to Share Your Custom Emblem
If you’re proud of your new paint job and your wish to share your Black Ops 3 emblem, just hit the “Start” button, which is located within the main menu. Then, select the “paint shop” option, which is found beneath the tab called, “identity.” Next, find your paint job/emblem and then select “publish”. This will make it a paint job/emblem that other players may rate and download.
